Prince Rock Dog Training and Agility Club

Dog Training

About us

We're a non profit making club based in central Plymouth, UK, which has been running for over 25 years.

At Prince Rock Dog Training & Agility Club we are committed to helping our club members socialise and train their dog using positive schooling methods of kindness, repetition, praise and reward.

Our aim is ensure both dog and owner find our sessions valuable and enjoyable, feeling they are at home and amongst friends.

Our experienced trainers are here to assist and support owners, actively encouraging them to ask if there is anything they are unsure of or that they may wish to specifically focus on.  Likewise, we are pleased to be able to offer help with particular problems identified as we boast a qualified behaviourist amongst our numbers.

Once a member of Prince Rock Dog Training & Agility Club, we are certain you will soon see the benefits of continuing to attend the organised classes as your dog progresses through the training programme.

Obedience  ~  Held on Monday & Tuesday evenings in a heated hall, with all the amenities.

Agility & Flyball   ~  Weekly classes take place after Easter and run, outdoors, during the summer months, weather permitting.  Dogs have to be at least 12 months old before they can take part in agility, come when called and stay when told.  There are no other qualifications and assessments will be carried out before you start.

Kennel Club schemes:

Puppy Assessment Courses and Kennel Club Good Citizen Award Scheme  ~  We are proud to be one of the few training clubs able to offer this facility across the country.  The Kennel Club Good Citizen Award Scheme is at Bronze, Silver and Gold standards.  Following completion of a course an independent assessment is carried out.  For your convenience, the whole process is carried out at the club hall.

For more information on the Kennel Club Good Citizens scheme, please see the Kennel Club website.

Newsletter  ~  Issued four times a year to keep members up to date with events, news and articles of interest, in addition to the information contained on the notice board during classes.

Social Activities

Displays ~ During the summer we provide Obedience & Agility displays at various events in & around Plymouth. We aim to show dogs at various stages of training & particularly like to have “beginners” in the team.

Christmas Party ~ During the evening we present awards, trophies and certificates in recognition of achievements throughout the year.  A finger buffet is provided for all attendees with a special “cake” for the dogs.  There is also a raffle and we play customised games, including the much loved musical squares, biscuit relay race & statues.

And that’s not all …..

We also:           Hold talks by guest speakers      Raise funds for our chosen charities

Arrange microchipping                Hold stock at competitive prices

REMEMBER ~ A trained dog is a happy dog.  The simple exercises taught during classes and practiced at home form disciplines which can be put to everyday use for the safety of your dog and others.  Such training makes it a pleasure to be out with your dog & ensures they are not a nuisance to anyone else.
